The Robotics and Automation Laboratory has been founded under the Official Government Gazette 2292/6-7-2017 Β’ and 3165/12-08-2019.
The Robotics and Automation Laboratory is involved in teaching, research and development in all aspects of automatic control, robotics and their applications.
About
- The basic and applied research in the fields of Robotics and Automation.
- To offer teaching and research tasks at undergraduate and graduate level.
- The cooperation of all forms with local and foreign research centers and academic institutions.

- with public sector, local authorities, scientific and social institutions as well as international institutions
- with private sector (laboratories and industrial units) to promote and exploit results of research in the production process

Research Areas
- Theory and design of control systems including robust, supervisory and distributed control and using algebraic, geometric, stochastic, nonlinear, adaptive and optimization methods. Additionally, control aspects of game theory, state estimation, neural networks, parameter estimation and fault diagnosis.
- Artificial Intelligence, fuzzy systems, expert systems, hierarchical systems and human-machine systems, control engineering towards the reliability of components and systems.
- Data processing, hardware and software for computer aided design, manufacturing and control in processes, spacecrafts, airplanes, traffic systems, economic systems, power systems, agriculture and management of natural resources.
- Kinematics, dynamics, control and simulation of robotic systems and intelligent machines. Path planning for robotic systems, design of robot mechanisms, mathematical and computational issues in robotics and automation.
- Intelligent instrumentation and measurement, computer vision, non-contact sensors, tactile sensing systems, sensor integration, mechatronics. Controlled electromechanical Hydraulic/Pneumatic Actuators.
- Assembly and task planning, teleoperation and telerobotics, haptics, robot motion, planning, path and trajectory planning, mobile and autonomous robotics, legged locomotion, micro-robot, cellular and cooperating robots
- Robotics in manufacturing, flexible automation, environmental-friendly manufacturing, modeling, analysis and support of chain management systems.
